In this session, you'll discover:
Whether you’re looking to improve efficiency, grow your practice, or simply make more confident decisions, this session will show you how BI can help you get there.

Audiology’s approach to binaural hearing and bilateral access to sound has changed enormously over the last three decades. As a clinician who has witnessed these changes first-hand, Emma Van Wanrooy has been inspired by her experience in binaural, bimodal and Single Sided Deafness (SSD) research to develop a passion for optimising the hearing of clients with asymmetrical and unilateral hearing loss.
There are now so many options for these clients, so how can you determine the best pathway for each individual? Join Emma as she does a refresh on the importance of Binaural Hearing, how to objectively determine if your client would benefit most from a Hearing Aid, BAHA, Cros-Aid or Cochlear Implant, and how to assess need and benefit.
This webinar is open to ALL, with special pricing for IAA members and their guests (staff or independent colleagues).
Since 2015, Emma Van Wanrooy has run her own Independent Audiology practice on Sydney’s Northern Beaches, Pittwater Hearing. Her focus is Adult Assessment and Rehabilitation including Hearing Aids and Cochlear Implants for severe and complex hearing losses. She also has an interest in Auditory Processing Disorders, Single Sided Deafness and asymmetrical hearing loss.
Before opening her clinic, Emma worked at SCIC (now Next Sense), Australian Hearing clinics in Bankstown and Wagga Wagga, and the National Acoustic Laboratories. In her 8 years at NAL, Emma was involved in research on Speech Perception in Noise, Outcomes for children with Hearing Impairment (The LOCHI study), Bilateral Cochlear Implants as well as developing a training program for the Bimodal Fine Tuning of hearing aids for use with Cochlear Implants. She also participated in research projects at Next Sense regarding Cochlear Implants for Single Sided hearing loss, and Tele Audiology for Cochlear Implant Mapping.
Emma is a long-standing member of Independent Audiologists Australia, has previously served on IAA's volunteer Executive Committee, and is a current member of the Libby Harricks Oration Committee run by Deafness Forum Australia.
